The Black Angel of Death

 

The Black Angel of Death is a statue in the cemetary of the Iowa City, Iowa cemetary over the grave of Rodina Feldevertova. The angel was originally white limestone, but it has become stained black from urban soot and grime and is said to get even blacker as Halloween approaches. It is said that if one were to touch the angel, death will follow within three days, and that if a pregnant woman should walk underneath the outspread wing she will miscarry.
